Revolutionary Parenting is one of a number of books George Barna has written for parents having a desire to raise children well-grounded in the truths of scripture--the Bible. Parenting (aka child-rearing) is a high calling, requiring a parent's best day-to-day, always leaning on and trusting God for His wisdom.

Thank you so much for leading this class! I am so humbled and blessed to be a mom. What a gift, and an awesome responsibility! I need the Lord's help and strength every day. I pray that whatever I'm feeling or facing, I would lean on Him, and not my own understanding. I always make a mess of things when I depend on myself.

You are exactly right. When we lean or attempt to lean on our own understanding we can expect nothing less than a mess. I enjoy reading through Proverbs with a particular focus in mind--example: Most recently I've been reading Proverbs, taking note of every scripture that speaks to the importance of children heeding the words of their parents. You may find great encouragement by reading a chapter in Proverbs each day with a focus on verses that speak to godly wisdom, discernment and understanding, as related to leaning on Him day-to-day, moment-to moment.
